Melissa Farnum, MA

 

 

 

 

 

 

Melissa is an instructional designer for the AIMS Center in the University of Washington’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. Prior to joining UW, Melissa worked in K-12 education as an ESL teacher in New York City and in higher education teaching English at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. With a background in teaching, Melissa supports faculty to create training offerings that draw on adult learning principles and follow a backward design approach. She has supported the development of several programs that train interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated mental health care in primary care settings. She appreciates the collaborative nature of instructional design and is always learning something new through the projects and people she supports.
